TOM HARDY - the one to watch in 2012

We had featured some of the upcoming actors and actress that we love to see more in 2011.  From Tilda Swindon to Joseph Gordon Levitt..

For the start of 2012, we would like to highlight an actor that has the potential to make 2012 his year.

Here's -  Tom Hardy

Edward Thomas "Tom" Hardy (born 15 September 1977) is an English actor. He is known for his roles in Bronson, Inception, Star Trek Nemesis, Warrior, RocknRolla and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Tom appeared as gay hoodlum "Handsome Bob" in the 'Guy Ritchie' film, RocknRolla,  In the film Bronson (2008), Hardy played the notorious "Charles Bronson" (given name, Michael Peterson), the "most violent prisoner in Britain". Bald, bulked-up, and outfitted with Bronson's signature strong-man moustache, Hardy is unrecognizable and gives a harrowing performance that is physically fearless and psychologically unsettling. Director Nicolas Winding Refn breaks down the fourth wall with Hardy retelling his tales directly to viewers as well as performing them outright before an audience of his own imagining. The performance mixes terrifying brutality, vaudevillian showmanship, wry humor, and an alarming amount of commitment, and won Hardy a British Independent Film Award for best actor.

He will portray the primary villain Bane in the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises.  The 34-year-old was hand-picked by director Christopher Nolan to play the comic book villain, known for his shaved head and headwear which looks like a gas mask.  Tom said: “Bane’s mask is tight, actually. I got used to it, but you get used to anything really, in time.”  The actor has described the character as “brutal” and “heavy-handed”, but said that he had no problem separating himself from the role.
“I didn’t get into a dark place at all. A lot of dark characters are easy to have distance from, it’s something I feel comfortable with, I suppose.”

We are excited and cant wait to see more of Tom Hardy flexing his acting skills in 2012.
